In recent years, China's sheep industry has made great progress, especially in the meat and sheep industry. However, the more we need to be calm at this moment, there are still some issues that cannot be ignored in the development of the sheep industry. (1) About the quality of meat for breeding sheep The meat and sheep industry in China is developing rapidly, and the demand for excellent meat-breeding sheep is even greater. Although in recent years China has introduced and propagated a certain number of meat-breeding sheep, it is still in short supply. At the same time, the price of breeding sheep is also high. Even domestic breeding is higher than the price introduced from abroad. Therefore, in order to chase high profits, a large number of sheep breeding units will naturally “fry” sheep breeds, and concentrate on speeding up sheep breeding: Many units, as long as they are lambs of sheep breeds, are not considered pure sheep breeds. The lambs, regardless of their quality, are sold as sheep, resulting in adverse effects. Therefore, operators of breeding sheep should pay attention to strengthening seed selection and matching, and constantly improve the quality of breeding sheep. According to the standard of breeding sheep, they should be sold in accordance with the principles of quality, high quality and high prices in order to establish the image of the industry, win the market, and win customers. . (II) On the price of meat for breeding sheep The current price of meat for cultivation in China is significantly higher, generally 3-7 times of the cost price, and the farmers and herdsmen cannot afford it. This will not achieve the introduction of excellent species in China. The main purpose of the sheep is to improve local cotton and goats with excellent breeds of sheep and use heterosis to produce high-quality mutton, thereby cultivating our own modern varieties of mutton sheep, so as to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the meat sheep industry in China. Therefore, efforts should be made to improve the quality of the breeding goats and at the same time continue to reduce the selling price of breeding sheep. (3) About the problem of “Boer Goatization” Boer goats are one of the most ideal meat goat breeds in the world. Now “Red” has spread over half of China. However, experts reminded us that Boer goats are not always asking everyone to use Boer goats to improve the local goats and engage in “Goatization of Boer goats,” but to pay attention to Boer goats, an outstanding large-scale meat goat breed. Make full use of this excellent breed of resources in some of China's most suitable areas for purposeful and planned development of the meat goat industry. Due to the vast territory of our country, the natural resources and economic conditions in different parts of the country are very different. When developing the sheep industry, we must base ourselves on local resources and adjust measures to local conditions. We must not engage in any one thing. China has many of its own breeds of meat goats. They have many characteristics and advantages of exotic varieties in their own distribution areas, and there are many goat breeds with different production directions. Their products are all in the market economy and the people’s lives are diverse. It is indispensable. Therefore, we must use the Boer goats to change them. We must study them carefully and act with caution. In recent years, some provinces, districts and units have used Boer goats to improve dairy goats and improve Nanjiang Yellow Goat. This is not appropriate. (4) About Small Tail Han Sheep Small Tail Han sheep have high reproductive rate, rapid growth and large size, but individuals with the above characteristics are only limited to the southwest of Shandong Province in Shandong Province; at the same time, from the aspect of the appearance, the small tail The sheep have high extremities, undeveloped anterior chest, poor full hindquarters, poor body shape of meat, white mutton color, unpleasant taste and flavor, and, in addition, between individuals within the breed, between different distribution areas, physique Size, growth and development, reproduction rate, and fur quality are all different, and some are even different. Therefore, we should objectively and comprehensively understand and publicize the Xiaohai Han sheep, use its strengths, overcome its shortcomings, and give full play to its positive role in China's modern sheep-raising industry. From the point of view of many years of production practice, in regions where sheep are suitable for breeding and where ecological and economic conditions are good, such as the introduction of small-tailed Han sheep as a maternal breed and a specialized ram for meat breeding, or in order to accelerate the breeding of high-yielding breeders The introduction of Small Tail Han sheep as an acceptor for embryo transfer should be the best choice. However, in many regions, units, and sheep-raising households, the purpose of introducing the Little Tail Han sheep is to “fried the seeds.” If you continue to do so, there will be adverse consequences. (5) About the fine wool sheep problem The potential of the wool market in China is very large. The development of the fine wool sheep industry still has a bright future. In the present situation where the enthusiasm for the development of the meat and sheep industry is unprecedentedly high, competent authorities at all levels and some of the main producing areas for high-quality woolly goats must remain calm and cannot follow blindly. In areas where fine wool sheep are developed, they should maintain and give full play to their advantages, and continue to work on improving the quality of wool and individual wool production, especially in the cultivation of China's own ultra-fine wool varieties. (6) Embryo Transplantation on Mian and Goats Embryo transfer is a mature and practical technology that can significantly increase the utilization rate of elite female animals and create considerable economic benefits. In the current tight domestic sheep market and the high price of breeding sheep, the profits of cotton and goat embryo transplantation are very attractive. Therefore, the domestic embryo transplants of cotton and goats are “fried” very hot, especially the embryos of Boer goats. Transplantation, whether from the size of the flock or the breadth of work carried out, has reached a very compelling end. However, more work should be done in the introduction of foreign frozen embryos, the organization of embryo transfer work, and the adjustment of embryo transfer costs to ensure that the quality of embryos introduced, the success rate of embryo transfer, and the reality of embryo transfer to sheep producers The interests, etc., make due contributions to the development of the sheep industry in China.
