Can squid (Flowers) feed on compound feed?

After domestication, squids (commonly known as flower pods) are capable of consuming compound feed. Some studies have examined the intestinal tracts of carp just 0.5 hours after feeding and found that intestinal congestion levels were generally between 4 and 5. Most of the ingested material was artificial compound feed, with only a small portion consisting of large zooplankton. This suggests that squids can effectively digest and process formulated feeds. To enhance the growth rate and yield of squids, it is common practice to feed them compound feed when raising them in monoculture or in combination with other species. However, larger fish like grass carp, which have strong feeding abilities, may not be suitable for this type of setup. Squids, on the other hand, tend to perform better with this kind of diet. When raising salmon and trout together in ponds, the powder feed given to other fish often serves as an adequate food source, and separate feeding is typically unnecessary. For cod, the formulation of feed is crucial. After ingestion, eels tend to remain near the water surface, with their heads exposed, slowly swimming around the feeding area and actively consuming the compound feed. Therefore, the feed must have good buoyancy to stay suspended in the water. Pellet sizes usually range from 0.3 to 0.8 mm. Although many commercial products are currently available in powder form, the utilization rate of floating feed can reach up to 90%, making it highly efficient. Feeding practices require careful attention to minimize waste. When feeding by hand, it's best to do so in small quantities and at a slower pace each time. In cage culture systems, feed is often placed in cloth bags, and fish are trained to touch the bag to access the food. This ensures they receive an appropriate amount based on their size. In reservoir areas, the ideal feeding location is a bamboo rack positioned in the upwind, quiet, and deeper parts of the water. Powdered feed should be sprinkled in the center of the rack. If needed, water can be added before sprinkling, but care must be taken to mix it evenly to avoid clumping or uneven distribution.
