Compared with breastfeeding, stool dryness is common in artificially fed children.

Constipation in artificially fed infants is often caused by ingestion, drinking too little water, or having too much protein or fat in food.

Some parents add excessively high proportion of milk powder when formulating formula milk powder, and do not add moisture in a hot or dry climate, which may cause dry stool or constipation in children.

For infants in the first few months of life, they can help with defecation by simply increasing the amount of water or adding some sugar to their milk.

For 4 months, children can add vegetables and boiled water. After half a year, add crude fiber foods such as sweet potato puree.

Infants can sometimes defecate for 36 to 48 hours, as long as they are carefully fed according to the law, normal bowel habits can be well developed.
