In response to this problem, we used a glyphosate liquid-spraying method to control these perennial weeds. The application area was 2233.3 hm2 and good results were obtained.

1 Using technology

a. The liquid preparation is made up of 250 mL of water containing 25% of 41% glyphosate and 0.2-0.7 hm2 can be applied.

b. The prevention and treatment time was best in the 3 to 5 compound leaves of soybean and 3 to 6 leaves of most weeds, and it was conducted at the latest before the initial flowering period of soybean.

c. Manual smearing

Select 80cm-long wooden sticks, one end of an egg-sized sponge ball, and use a sponge ball to dip the prepared liquid onto the weed blades (preferably on the heart-leaf).

d. Mechanical painting method

2 control effect

3 Precautions

Although the above two smearing methods are effective in controlling weeds, the following problems should be paid attention to in production practice.

a. When the artificial trowel is used, the sponge ball should be evenly administrated, and the liquid drips on the leaves of the crops to cause phytotoxicity. The phenomenon of seedling deficiency and broken bar appears, affecting the soybean yield.

b. Mechanical wipes should be driven at a low speed and at a constant speed to prevent drug droplets from falling onto the soybean leaves to cause phytotoxicity. The operation was prohibited on windy days. In particular, lots of reeds were smeared. Liquids that had been immersed in the leaves of the reeds were susceptible to drift by wind blows, causing phytotoxicity.

c. In order to reduce the volatilization loss of the liquid and improve the efficacy, when the air humidity is less than 65% and the air temperature is higher than 27°C, the operation should be stopped.

d. Due to the inconsistent growth of weeds during weeding, large plots of weeds must be promptly processed on the second and third rounds to prevent the occurrence of missed wipes and grass shortages.
