Different approaches can be used depending on the situation.

(1) When long-haired shrimp are harvested between late July and mid-August in the lunar calendar, the white shrimp fry should not exceed 2 cm in length. It is important to carefully manage the white shrimp fry in the pond. When it's time to release the shrimps, the long-haired shrimp are removed first, followed by a large number of white shrimp fry hatching. At this stage, it’s crucial to close the gates promptly and repeatedly move the shrimps. This ensures that the white shrimp fry remain in the pond until the end.

(2) Monitor the appearance of white shrimp fry in the coastal area closely. Once the last batch of fry appears, use a net to drain them into a dense mesh net, which helps collect and incorporate the white shrimp fry effectively.

(3) Apply fertilizers and manage water conditions to cultivate more white shrimp fry in the pond. After the last group of white shrimp in the pond has laid eggs in early August, stop water exchange and increase algae density by adding fertilizers. This ensures that the newly hatched shrimp have enough food, significantly improving their survival rate. If there are not enough eggs in the pond, they can be collected from the sea. Typically, about 150-200 acres per mu are recommended for optimal results. Combining these three methods can lead to much better outcomes.

By carefully managing the timing and environment, farmers can maximize the yield and quality of white shrimp fry. It’s essential to stay alert and adjust strategies based on the natural cycle of the shrimp. Whether through careful harvesting, strategic netting, or nutrient management, each step plays a key role in ensuring a successful breeding season.
