What if the fog is coming? Not only can you wear a mask but also a stuffy nose. Recently, a team of doctors from the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, invented a hidden nasal plug that effectively filters harmful substances such as PM10 and PM2.5, allergens, pollen, and germs in the atmosphere, preventing or reducing their damage to the respiratory system.

It is understood that the invention of this personal protective nasal congestion is the doctoral students of the Department of Environment and Chemical Engineering, University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, Li Guozhen, Dong Jie, Shi Wei and Yan Jiefeng. The inspiration for the invention stems from the usual experimental class. Li Guozhen, one of the inventors, told reporters that due to professional learning needs, the doctoral career of four people was basically spent in the chemical laboratory. To prevent toxic particles and dust from entering the body through breathing, they must wear a thick 3M mask each time they enter the laboratory. But wearing a mask can't breathe smoothly, and it will be dizzy when worn for a long time.

As a result, the four men had a bold idea and wanted to let the people wear a new type of protective nasal plug made in China.

It is understood that the nasal plug is mainly constructed as a special screw structure. When wearing this nasal plug for breathing, through the screw structure, the gas creates a vortex, which causes the inhalable particles carried in the air to move toward the inner wall of the screw. The inner surface of the screw structure is coated with a special material that can filter the particles to achieve the effect of purifying the air. And such a stuffy nose, as long as 10 yuan, can be reused 5 times. This invention was awarded a research grant of 70,000 yuan from the University of Nottingham Ningbo.
