The cooling medium commonly used for water-soluble drop pills typically includes methyl silicone oil, liquid paraffin, and other vegetable oils. Over time, due to environmental humidity and human intervention, some water may mix into the medium, causing it to become cloudy and opaque. This not only affects the roundness of the drop pills during molding but also leads to leakage when manually handled. When there's a high water content, the precipitation method can be used to remove the water. However, it's challenging to address the issue of water molecules being absorbed into the medium when the working temperature decreases. Additionally, during long-term use, solid particles released by the drop pills as they form are dispersed in the cooling medium, further increasing its turbidity. To tackle these issues, some manufacturers resort to using silica gel for moisture absorption and high-density filtration to remove impurities. However, this approach is often ineffective. The main drawbacks include the large amount of silica gel required and the cumbersome process of de-oiling and drying it. In contrast, the ZGJ-60 cooling medium dewatering filter developed by Yantai Development Zone Bosen Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd. effectively addresses these problems. The system works by pumping the silicone oil into a closed storage tank. An electric heating system warms the heat transfer oil, which in turn heats the cooling medium. This reduces the medium’s viscosity and helps evaporate the water. The steam is then removed via a vacuum pump. Afterward, the heated medium passes through an activated carbon filter and a 0.2 µm titanium alloy filter before being cooled and re-injected into the drop pill machine. This device features a compact design, high automation, and precise temperature and pressure control, making it suitable for processing various types of media. Once the viscosity of the silicone oil is determined, it is re-introduced into the drop pill machine. Some manufacturers still use boiling methods, but this can lead to improper temperature control, causing the medium to gelatinize and negatively affecting the shape of the drop pills during the molding process.
