Heart Photo Collage by popular Florida lifestyle blogger Fresh Mommy Blog

For quite some time now, I've been itching to create a collage using some Instagram prints I had ordered ages ago. You see, as a photographer, I tend to accumulate a lot of photo frames—some even empty! And since we're renting this house, there are plenty of blank walls waiting to be filled. My mind is constantly buzzing with DIY ideas, scribbled into my ever-growing to-do list notebooks. After experimenting with different concepts and dusting off an old picture frame from Brayden's former nursery, I finally decided on making a heart-shaped photo collage featuring some of my favorite prints. It turned out to be surprisingly straightforward once I got started. Here's the complete breakdown…

DIY HEART PHOTO COLLAGE

Supplies you'll need for your Heart Photo Collage:

  • Instagram prints (I used Postalpix this time)
  • Double-sided tape roller
  • Poster board
  • Picture frame
  • Ruler (optional)

Begin by cutting your poster board to match the dimensions of your chosen frame. I traced the matte that came with the frame onto the poster board, carefully cut along those lines, and voila—it was ready to go. Next, start arranging your photos to get a feel for how you'd like them to fit together, keeping in mind color combinations and overall balance. Play around until you find a layout that speaks to you.Heart Photo Collage by popular Florida lifestyle blogger Fresh Mommy Blog

Once you’re satisfied with the arrangement, use a ruler to ensure symmetry and evenly space the edges of your heart shape. Secure the outermost photos with a double-sided tape roller to keep them in place while you continue building the heart shape. Fill in the interior of the heart with the remaining prints, securing each one as you go along.

All in all, this project was incredibly easy and took me less than half an hour to complete. Since I already had most of the supplies on hand, my expenses were minimal—I only needed to order the prints (which cost under $5) and buy a new piece of poster board.

I hope this inspires you to try your hand at creating something similar. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with other art projects to decorate our blank bathroom walls. Let me know if you give it a shot!

I've always loved how personalizing spaces can bring joy and inspiration. Whether it's through photography or other creative outlets, there's something magical about transforming ordinary items into meaningful pieces. This heart-shaped collage not only added charm to our home but also served as a reminder of cherished moments captured in each print. If you've tried something similar or have another creative project in mind, I’d love to hear all about it!
