So, as of my most recent ultrasound, it seems like Baby Boy Blue is coming along but is a little on the petite side—about 5 to 7 days behind what they initially estimated based on our original due date. You know how it goes: due dates are kind of like educated guesses, right? They’re based on averages, measurements, and all sorts of things that can vary from person to person.
We had an appointment with our midwife recently, and everything is still looking great! She mentioned it wasn’t a huge deal, but since some doctors might wonder why we aren’t inducing if I go past the due date, we decided to officially push our due date back by a week. That way, there won’t be any unnecessary questions or concerns. Our new official due date for Baby Boy Blue is now February 12, 2010, instead of February 5, 2010.
Perfect timing too, because this past weekend was jam-packed, and then the following week was equally busy. We even went camera-less for a few days, which meant we missed out on taking our maternity series photos. I finally caught up, so now I’m aligned with the new due date. When I share the next maternity picture, it’ll be a wrap for that phase of the pregnancy.
Who knows? Maybe I’ll get an extra week with this little one still tucked away in my belly before he decides it’s time to meet the world!
