**Variety and Venue Selection**
When selecting the right variety for stripping, it's important to ensure that the fleas are healthy, free from disease, and show no signs of obvious abnormalities. They should be wild, well-rounded, and have a weight of over 100 grams. The ideal location for the process is a well-ventilated, bright, and breathable area that’s easy to access. It should also be sheltered from direct sunlight and rain, with a reliable water source nearby to maintain humidity levels.
**Stripping Time**
The best time to perform the stripping is between April and October, with June through September being the most optimal months. Stripping too early may result in incomplete shedding, while the best results are achieved during the second half of the night—between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM. It can also be done after a few days of good weather or just before a thunderstorm. The ideal temperature range for this process is between 25°C and 32°C, and the entire procedure usually takes about 5 minutes.
**Koike Construction**
The size of the koike (a type of pool used for this purpose) should be around 120 cm by 90 cm by 40 cm. If it's too large, it's a waste of space, and if it's too small, it becomes difficult to manage. The bottom of the pool should have a slight slope of 2 to 4 cm, with a water hole placed in the lowest corner. The pool must remain moist, and water should be sprayed 2 to 5 times daily depending on the weather and humidity. Every morning, the pool needs to be cleaned thoroughly. If the surface is concrete, it should be filled with water two months after construction begins.
**Drug Stripping**
Use a fine sprayer to apply a small amount of the drug onto the dried gill area. After one hour, use a cotton ball dipped in the No. 2 liquid solution to gently clean the mouth area. The clothes should be removed 4 to 10 days after the application. This method ensures a smooth and efficient stripping process.
**Stripping Symptoms**
During the process, the insect will appear sluggish, unresponsive, and wet. Its back may arch, and its legs might bend. Within a few minutes, it will begin to shed. The shedding typically starts from the back, then moves to the hind and front legs. Once the first four claws become sharp, the cockroach should be caught quickly. Hold it with your right hand using your fingers, and place it in a container of cold water with your left hand.
**Coat Treatment**
Use a pair of tweezers to gently immerse the cloth in water and swirl it until fully unraveled. If there’s no model glass available, place an enamel glass on one side and a damp coat on the other. Position the glass face down with the oil side up. The glass should be approximately 25 cm by 140 cm by 3 cm. Tilt the glass so that half is submerged in water, ensuring the head remains in the outer part. Gently adjust each part of the coat into position. Carefully lift the glass out of the water. Once dry, the coat can be removed and stored for sale. If any parts are missing, they should be completed in the water. In some cases, the coat may need to be disinfected using an infrared sterilizer.
