In midsummer, the Shu Shu tree enters its active growth phase. However, this period also marks the peak activity of various pests and pathogens that threaten tree health. To manage these threats effectively, several targeted control methods are recommended: First, for pine caterpillars, a 25% malathion, 25% dimethoate, or 25% phoxim solution diluted at 2,500 to 3,000 times is recommended. Apply it during the 6th instar stage in July to ensure maximum effectiveness. Second, for the American white moth, spraying the canopy with a 25% diflubenzuron solution mixed at 1,000 times and 40 ppm trichlorfon is effective against 1st to 3rd instar larvae. This should be done from late June to early July. Third, for the big bag moth, spray 90% trichlorfon crystals diluted at 1,000–1,500 times or 2.5% deltamethrin EC at 5,000–10,000 times during mid-July and late October. Alternatively, drill three holes into the trunk of dead trees in late July to early August and inject 50% monocrotophos EC or 80% Phosphine EC at 20–40 times, using 3–5 ml per hole. Seal the holes with mud afterward. Fourth, for the indigo leaf a, burn or spray the pupae clustered on the trunk with 2.5% deltamethrin emulsion diluted at 8,000–10,000 times or 40% omethoate at 2,000 times in early July. Fifth, for the larch sheath moth, use pentachlorophenol sodium smoke agent when adult emergence reaches 40–50% in late June, or spray 1,000 times dilution of diflubenzuron III during egg hatching in early July. Sixth, for Liu Yu shield shield, apply 50% sputum pine oil diluted at 600–800 times or 40% omethoate at 1,000 times every 7–10 days during the nymph incubation period, which occurs from late June to early July. Be sure to apply before the shell forms, as it becomes harder to penetrate once formed. Seventh, for Qingyang Tiger Tianniu, spray the branches with 50% killer pine oil diluted at 800 times every 10–15 days from late June to July to target eggs and newly hatched larvae. Eighth, for Yang Gan elephants, spray 50% schisandra pine oil, 50% malathion at 1,000 times, or 2.5% deltamethrin EC at 1,000 times during adult eclosion, which occurs from late June to late July. Repeat the treatment 1–3 times depending on the infestation level. Ninth, for bamboo shoots disease, spray Nanzhu bamboo shoots with 50% carbendazim or 70% thiophanate-methyl diluted at 1,000–1,500 times every 7–10 days, possibly up to three applications. Tenth, for peach small borer, spray the canopy with 5% yamson pine oil at 1,000 times or 2.5% deltamethrin cream at 2,000–2,500 times in late July. Eleventh, for the light and star longhorn beetles, place tablets, pills, or poison sticks made of aluminum phosphide and zinc phosphide around the base of the tree for 2–3 days. Also, inject wormholes with 50% malathion or 40% dimethoate at 20–40 times, or use Beauveria bassiana injection. Twelfth, for loose needle disease, use pentachlorophenol sodium smoke from late June to early July. For an average canopy, 7.5 kg per square meter is sufficient. Smoke should be released on dry days, either after sunset or before sunrise, to maximize effectiveness.
